Radiofrequency Wrinkle Reduction

Put a fresh face forward

What is a Radiofrequency treatment?

Radiofrequency (RF) is a unique, non-invasive wrinkle treatment that uses radiowave technology to tighten sagging skin and reverse the effects of aging for a rejuvenated, younger-looking appearance. Thermal energy (heat) warms the deep layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production and promote tissue contraction for improved skin quality and appearance.

Most patients who undergo radiofrequency procedures achieve effective, natural-looking results with only a minimal risk of side effects or other complications. We are proud to offer radiofrequency treatments to our patients as an effective, affordable and nonsurgical solution to correct unwanted lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin.

Who is a candidate for Radiofrequency treatments?

Radiofrequency treatments are ideal for any patient with lines, wrinkles or crepey skin who is looking to restore a firmer, more youthful appearance. Treatments may be performed on patients 18 years and older, and are safe for all skin tones.

These treatments can be used to treat problem areas of skin on the face, including crow’s feet, smile lines, laugh lines and any other unwanted wrinkles. With realistic expectations, most patients are highly satisfied with their results. It is often recommended for patients who want to improve their appearance but do not want to undergo surgery, or do not have time for the lengthy recovery periods often associated with surgical procedures.

Your doctor will determine whether you can benefit from RF procedures after evaluating the condition of your skin and discussing your goals for treatment.

How does it work?

Radiofrequency devices heat up the deep layers of your skin using advanced radiowave technology without damaging the epidermis, or top layer of skin. The heat causes the collagen in your skin to contract and tighten. After the treatment, your skin will start to produce new collagen. The result is an improvement in skin quality, firmness and tightness you can see and feel.

What areas of the body can Radiofrequency treatments be used on?

  • Sagging skin under chin
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Wrinkles around the mouth
  • Lines or folds between the eyebrows
  • Lines on the forehead
  • Crow’s Feet
  • Lines or sagging skin under the eye
  • Loose or crepey skin on the body (including abdomen, chest, and under the arms)

Before The Procedure

Before the procedure, a cool gel is first applied to the face to protect it during treatment. The handpiece is moved across the skin of the targeted area to deliver the radiowave technology and effectively tighten the skin. This thermal energy penetrates deep into the skin for a customized treatment based on each patient’s skin condition.

What to expect before and after the procedure

Unlike other skin tightening systems, there is no anesthesia required during RF procedures, with patients usually experiencing only a deep, mild warming sensation. Treatments can take anywhere from 10-60 minutes to perform depending on what area is being treated. Patients can return home and resume their regular activities immediately after treatment with no recovery time needed. Some patients experience mild swelling and redness which typically goes away within 2-24 hours.

What type of results can I expect to see?

Patients will experience a smoother, fuller appearance, as skin is tightened and lines and wrinkles are significantly reduced or eliminated.

The effects of radiofrequency treatments will continue to improve over the next few months as the skin produces new collagen. Results typically last for a minimum of six months, although with ongoing treatments, results are often long-lasting. Your doctor will determine how many treatments are needed and how often the treatments should be performed.

Are Radiofrequency treatments safe?

Radiofrequency treatments can be performed on all skin types and do not usually cause any damage to the surface of the skin. Patients with pacemakers, defibrillators, or any implanted metal device cannot be treated.
