IPL Photorejuvenation

The glowing skin you desire!

The natural consequences of aging on our skin include sun damage, freckles, age spots, acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, and redness caused by broken capillaries and rosacea. Photorejuvenation reduces these signs of aging using pulses of light to produce clear, vibrant-looking skin that you can be proud of.

How does it work?

Photorejuvenation works by using pulses of light to even out pigmentation, reduce redness and stimulate collagen growth for an overall younger-looking appearance. These specialized pulses of light target brown spots, sun damage and vessels without harming the surrounding skin. The light delivered to your skin causes these targets to slowly disappear through your body’s natural healing process.

What can IPL treat?

Treatments can also improve the appearance of birthmarks and uneven pigmentation.

What do I need to do before my IPL procedure?

Patients should notify their doctor of any medications they are taking or any recent procedures, as these may interfere with treatment. Your doctor will advise you if and when medications should be discontinued. In addition, patients with a history of scarring, bleeding, keloid formation or poor healing may want to reconsider treatment with photorejuvenation. If you are tan or use self tanner, you will not be able to receive an IPL treatment that day.

What does the treatment feel like?

Patients may experience mild discomfort during the procedure, similar to the feeling of a rubber band being lightly snapped against the skin. The applicator has a cooling feature built into it to make the treatment as comfortable as possible, but you might feel a bit of discomfort if you’re treating a more sensitive area, like the upper lip. If you find it too uncomfortable, let the operator know and they can adjust the treatment accordingly.

What is the recovery time for Photorejuvenation?

There is no recovery time and a low risk of complications. However, patients will need to protect their skin from the sun after treatment, as it will be more sensitive than normal.

When can I see results from Photorejuvenation treatments?

Intense Pulsed Light with Smart Pulse technology ensures optimal, precise, and consistent energy throughout the treatment to provide the best possible results. Multiple sessions are performed every few weeks until the desired result has been achieved. Results will be noticeable after the first few treatments and will continue to improve as treatment progresses.

What are the side effects associated with Photorejuvenation?

Patients often look as though they have a sunburn for several hours after treatment. Although rare, there is a risk of mild swelling, blistering, infection and scarring after this treatment.
